Graham Rorie BMus(Hons)
I grew up in Orkney and now split my time between home and Glasgow whilst touring and performing. I learnt both classical and traditional genres before studying traditional music at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. I also teach as part of the UHI Applied Music degree.
I teach with the idea that the basic techniques of the violin/fiddle remain the same no matter what genre of music is played on the instrument, so try to equip students with the necessary skills to play any kind of music they wish from a solid understanding of the violin/fiddle.
Lesson content can include but is not limited to:
ABRSM Violin Grades
Scottish Music Graded Exams (Fiddle) Improvers technique and good practice
While consistent weekly lessons may not be possible with my performance schedule I’ll do my very best to work in regular lessons with a hybrid approach of in-person and online.
